This project began as a complete teardown to transform a factory casting into a one-of-a-kind replica.
Build Specifications & Process –
Body Prep & Construction: The factory paint was completely stripped and the casting was sanded for a smooth, uniform surface.
The original rivets were drilled and tapped, allowing the car to be secured with 2-56 Allen head screws. This makes the car fully modifiable and easy to disassemble if desired.
Paint & Finish –
Base: Primed with AutoBorne Gray Sealer for maximum adhesion.
Detailing: A base of Wicked Colors High Gloss Black was applied, then precisely masked to create the custom racing stripes and blacked-out roof. Custom waterslide decals were printed and applied including headlights, lower front air vents, snake emblems, and rear deckled & taillights.
Color: Quicksilver aluminum flakes were laid down as a shimmering mid-coat, followed by multiple layers of Blood Red Candy2o to achieve a deep, translucent “candy” effect.
Protection: Finished with a 2K clear coat for a durable, mirror-like shine and long-lasting protection.
Wheel Swap: Equipped with Real Rider wheels featuring authentic rubber tires for a realistic stance and premium feel.
